all original and intact american antique wall-mount swing-arm or pivoting early electric sconce designed and fabricated by the beardslee chandelier mfg. co., chicago. il. the ornate tubular brass sconce contains a pleasing scrolled arm with early "fatboy" shell socket with paddle switch and mica insulation. the spun brass tapered and turned base cap is original to the wall sconce. the highly desirable "vaseline" or uranium art glass shade with ruffled or crimped bottom is free from damage. the nicely aged surface patina has been left untouched. the decorative beardslee wall sconce was salvaged from the chicago athletic club billiard room (2nd floor) where it had been in storage for over ninety years. excellent overall condition. measures approximately 15 inches from the wall with a shade diameter of 6 inches.
