unusual and hard to find early 1920's american made antique medical freestanding racine isolation hospital "dressing" cabinet with combination trash chute. the cold-rolled pressed and folded steel hospital operating room storage cabinet contains two hinged doors with the original cast bronze butterfly or bow tie-shaped t-handles. the reinforced cabinet retains the original clear plate glass inset mounted within the top door. medical dressings were originally stored in the topmost compartment. the bottom section features a hinged door with integrated trash chute or flap with traces of a copper or brass-plated finish. the cabinet is supported by four slightly tapered steel legs. the brushed and sanded metal finish has been treated with a clear coat lacquer. the antique medical cabinet was designed and fabricated by the frank s. betz company, hammond, ind. measures 18 x 14 x 48 1/2 inches
