unique and well-built c. 1940's vintage american industrial custom pipefitter's portable tool chest discovered in the old cook county hospital power plant boiler room (non-extant). the two tiers are compartmentalized with the use of stationary wood dividers. the original and nicely worn green paint finish remains largely intact. the cylindrical-shaped solid wood handle is in good shape, considering age. the oversized portable cabinet is structurally sound and stable. measures approximately 24 x 11 1/4 x 18 1/2 inches.
