very unique and original late 1920's antique single-sided interior "rooms" flophouse wall or door signdesigned and fabricated by the modern sign works, chicago, il. the highly stylized flush mount and/or hanging sign is comprised of a thick scalloped edge clear glass with reflective foil back lettering against a reverse-painted baked black enameled background. the diminutive sign is accentuated by two red nouveau or craftsman style floral motifs. the thin wrought brass sign enclosure is original with a nicely aged surface patina. measures 9 x 3 inches.
