c. 1900-10 original antique american fanciful cast brass metal exterior residential doorknob backplates. the "vigo" pattern backplates were fabricated by the yale & towne mfg. co., stamford, ct. the entrance door backplates contains a diminutive privacy latch handle and opening for a cylinder lock. deeply embossed and elegantly designed leafage adorn the top and bottom of each backplate. mostly uniform surface patina. savaged from a chicago graystone residence. measure approximately 10 1/2 x 3 1/4 inches. priced for the set.
