very rare and remarkably intact antique american 20th century industrial wall-mount faries "no. 20" bracket articulating lamp, designed specifically for dentists, medical doctors, architects, etc. the early electric c. 1915 task lamp was designed and fabricated by the faries mfg. co., decatur, il. the perforated cast iron bracket features a curvaceous arm accentuated with elegant scrollwork. the primary adjustable "c-arm" is comprised of tubular brass. the additional "extension" arm with overlapping friction joint, contains an early general electric incandescent threaded-end key socket rewired with period appropriate braided cloth lamp cord. the rolled rim parabola-shaped wrought steel shade or reflector with patented socket fitter is original to the fixture. the early american industrial wall lamp retains the original, highly desirable oxidized copper finish (the other finish offered was "brushed brass"). the "no. 20" was considered the very best of the bracket series faries had to offer during this time period.
