all original hard to find early 20th century two piece interior factory hanging pendant light salvaged from a milwaukee train yard factory complex. the pendant fixture contains a large opalsecent fluted glass shade or reflector with original deep bowl "eye shield" diffuser. the patented "phenixlite" fixture was manufactured by the phoenix glass co. the unique screwless and ventilated socket fitter with matching chain and canopy was manufactured by the plume & atwood manufacturing co. the plume & atwood manufacturing co. was first organized in 1869, but didn't incorporate under that name until 1880. plume & atwood produced a full line lamps and lamp "trimmings." founding member and inventor lewis j. atwood, received over 50 patents between 1871 and 1912. the industrial pendant measures 17 inches in diameter. the height is 34 inches (chain and canopy included).
