mid-1930's intact and fully functional wall-mount illuminated ruby red glass school gymnasium exit light fixture designed and fabricated by the mcphilben mfg. co., brooklyn, ny. the completely intact diminutive flush mount caged fixture retains the original convex-shaped ruby red glass lens or shade with original baked-on black enameled lettering. the glass shade and single light bulb socket are protected by a spun aluminum grille or cage that is integrated with the shade fitter and/or housing. the aluminum fixture contains a mostly uniform finish throughout. the original ceramic socket remains intact. very unique and seldom found exit light fixture.
