rare antique late nineteenth century completely intact privy dug light blue hutchinson shaped bottle manufactured for joseph hladovec, in chicago, il. the slim, tall body has high shoulders that taper into a short neck and applied rounded blobtop. the front body is embossed "jos. hladovec / 84 fisk st / chicago ill". crudities are typical of its age and date of manufacture. the dug bottle has not been tumbled, so appears to have some discoloration or haze, as well as minor surface wear. the blobtop bottle would have used a hutchinson internal spring stopper for closure. joseph (or josef) hladovec bottled in as early as 1884 at 82 and 84 fisk street. in 1890 he opened a brewery at the corner of 21st & western, that lasted only two years.
