c. 1930's american depression era cold-rolled furniture sheet steel simmons writing desk designed and fabricated by the simmons mfg. co., kenosha, wisc. the stationary table or desk contains a single drawer with the original opposed handles or pulls intact (not shown). the desk was likely used in an old hotel when painted steel "fireproof" furniture was popular. the single drawer with spacious interior moves with ease. the turned or tubular legs are structurally sound and stable. great overall condition. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures 32 x 19 x 30 inches.
