truly remarkable and well-designed original late 1920's american depression era deep relief interior theater lobby figural cast plaster wall medallion or cartouche bearing a centrally located full-scale expressionless face surrounded by an abundance of hair. the largely intact oversized cast plaster fragment was salvaged from a chicago theater (the exact theater remain unknown at the time). the detailed face accentuated with surrounding volutes and leafage contains a uniform gold leaf pant finish. great overall condition considering age. the distinctive plaster fragment was likely fabricated by the decorators' supply company, chicago, il.
