sought after and remarkably rare c. 1910-20 american antique industrial fully adjustable single arm portable factory office desk or table task lamp designed and fabricated by the dale electric co., new york city, ny. the lamp features a weighted cast iron base concealed by a tapered cover plate containing embossed rings. the vertical arm is comprised largely of tubular brass with partial rope motif and oversized ring finial. the two-way joint replete with knurled friction dials allows the bent tubular horizontal arm to move up and down and forward and backwards. the early general electric socket with on/off paddle switch has been rewired. the highly desirable bulbous benjamin rotating twin socket plug (containing multiple patent dates) retains the original rolled rim parabola-shaped hubbell shades with intact green paint finish. the nicely aged patina and enameled treatments have been left undisturbed.
