original and intact c. 1940's american machine sleek and refined stationary work stand or desk designed and fabricated by or for helene curtis industries inc., chicago, il. the streamlined style diminutive desk contains a single module divided into two distinct spaces accessed by pull-out drawer or hinged swing-out cabinet door. the original black enameled finish remains largely intact. the module is supported by two bent tubular steel legs with original chrome-plated finish. the black formica tabletop is outlined in a lightweight aluminum trim or banding. the hinged door retains the original "helene curtis" sterilizer decal applied to clear glass. measures 22 x 15 x 28 inches.
