original c. 1880's antique american "ceylon" pattern residential sliding door mortise lock fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the face plate is comprised of cast brass, with push button, sliding handle and opening for a "finger lock." surface wear evident. the iron lock box retains most of the original baked black enameled finish. measures approximately 1 x 8 5/8 x 3 3/8 inches.
