matching set of original american victorian era interior residential room dividers or colonnades salvaged from a chicago graystone undergoing demolition. the bases are comprised of oak, with a three-sided recessed panel configuration. additionally, each base contains egg & dart trimwork and completely intact baseboard throughout. the partially fluted, lock-joint staved and turned columns remain structurally sound and intact. the highly ornate ionic capitals are replete with volutes, acanthus leaves and anthemions - all comprised largely of gesso or composite. the original varnished finish remains largely intact. the room divider components were fabricated by or for the decorators' supply co., chicago, il. original paper labels identifying manufacturer, are found on each of the four-sided capitals.
