original 19th century american industrial adjustable height draftsman factory office stool. the sturdy four-legged varnished white oak stationary base contains multiple turned dowels or stretchers for added strength and stability. the outswept turned wood legs remain structurally sound and sturdy. the stool contains a solid steel spindle affixed tightly to the maple wood swivel seat. the top portion of the legs are fastened to the black enameled cast iron housing containing the threaded spindle. manufactured by the eugene dietzgen co., principal factory, chicago. upholstered seat. free from tears, etc.
