late 1940's american industrial iron and steel hand-crank die cart table manufactured by hamilton tool co., hamilton, oh. the portable elevating table or "portelvator" was designed and patented by oscar schilchter in 1933. the reinforced all-metal mobile cart has been lightly cleaned and partially brushed down to bare metal. sporadic traces of old blue paint left intentionally. the hardened rubber or composite stationary, and smaller swivel wheels are original and intact. a crank handle was used to manually lift the heavy steel top deck upwards and downwards. the top tier was removed long ago. the undershelf provides plenty of additional storage space. the versatile well-built two-tier cart would look great in the kitchen or in a variety of other design applications. the mobile industrial crank cart was salvaged from a west side chicago sheet metal fabrication factory founded in in 1894. very limited number of carts remain in stock. 33 inches x 20 3/4 inches x 24 1/2 inches.
