original early 20th century antique american ornamental cast iron copper-plated passage door backplate. contains four pre-drilled screw holes, single skeleton keyhole and a wrought yellow brass collar or thimble. top and bottom heavily ornamented foliated scrollwork and bellflowers. possibly fabricated by p. & f. corbin or the russell & erwin mfg. company. measures 9 x 2 1/4 inches.
