rare and intact early 20th century american antique neoclassical style brilliant white calcite glass oversized drop bowl shade attributed to the steuben glass works, corning, ny. the giant-sized ceiling fixture bowl shade features a deeeply etched and/or wheel cut neogrec border and centrally located fan rosette. the shade was found in the basement storage area of an old chicago bank building constructed between 1910-15. sadly the original shade fitter or fixture was not found anywhere in the building (likely fell victim to the world war ii scrap drive). the large glass bowl is free from cracks or breaks. measures approximately 24 inches in diameter with a height of approximately 6 inches.
