remarkable early 20th century antique american late victorian era interior residential flush mount wall sconces featuring vertically aligned staggered rectangular stained glass panels supported by ornamental cast bronze acanthus leaf arms. the decorative patinated bases retain the original on/off dial switch. the leaded glass shades contain crenellated tops with alternating caramel slag and purple hammered cathedral glass for added visual character. the matching wall-mount sconces were salvaged from the non-extant e.f. lasar mansion, located in st. louis mo. mr. lasar was president of lasar ornamental iron and bronze manufacturing. the house was built in 1906 with oscar enders as designer/architect. enders was chief draftsman for notable st. louis architect, isaac s. taylor, who had a prominent role in the execution of the st. louis world's fair architecture. the distinctive design and fabrication of the ornamental fixtures was likely a collaboration between the home owner and architect. original rayon cloth cord and sockets. measure 12 x 8 inches. priced for the pair.
