two matching highly ornate early 1900's interior residential ornamental cast brass doorknob backplates possibly fabricated by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. each backplate contains a protruding thimble, single keyhole opening and two pre-drilled screw holes for mounting purposes. the intricately designed and visually striking pierced metal leafage greatly enhances the overall look. the original bronze plating or "wash" remains somewhat intact. measure approximately 10 x 2 3/8 inches. priced for the pair.
