pair of original vintage american industrial reinforced diamond pattern steel mesh factory strainer baskets salvaged from the inland steel products co. factory, chicago, il. the two hanging baskets contain opposed solid bent steel rod handles remaining structurally sound and stable. the spacious compartments contain centrally located arched racks with evenly-spaced slots for product placement. the baskets were likely fabricated by the union steel products co., albion, mi. naturally oxidized surface patina evident. the union steel screen company was organized in 1902, and moved to albion, mi. in 1905. the name was changed to union steel products in 1915. union steel was the world’s largest manufacturer of oven and broiler pan shelves, and made numerous other wire basket related products. priced for the pair.
