pair of 19th century antique american eastlake style ornamental cast brass "egyptian" pattern interior residential doorknob escutcheons or rosettes designed and fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the matching passage door rosettes were salvaged from the extant david c. cook mansion, built in 1884-85. the circular backplates contain a mostly uniform surface patina with black enameled inlay used to accentuate the casting detail. measure approximately 1 7/8 inches in diameter. priced for the pair.
