two matching c. 1880's original ornamental cast brass "crisscross" pattern interior residential pocket door backplates. the uniquely shaped pocket door escutcheons were fabricated by th p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the backplates feature a mostly uniform black enameled inlay, used to accentuate the casting detail. the right side of each backplate was slightly altered to fit the existing door. the deeply recessed cup handles contain ornamental backplates featuring small quatrefoil design motifs. measure approximately 6 5/8 x 2 1/2 inches. priced for the pair.
