wll-constructed c. 1860's antique american industrial painted pine wood portable carpenter or builder's tool chest likely fabricated by a local craftsman. the distinctive tool chest contains a weathered and worn red paint finish with allover crazing. the hinged top features a riveted joint union shield with no additional markings evident. the spacious interior is clean and free from damage. the riveted strap hinges provide added reinforcement. measures 26 3/4 x 15 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches.
