original historically important oversized chicago tribune tower (howells and hood, 1925) interior office door unit lock with unique integrated mailslot. the door lock with letters slot was fabricated by the russell & erwin company, new britain, ct. the lobby level office door hardware is comprised of bower-barff cast iron on one side and polished bronze on the side of door facing lobby. the door hardware is fullly functional. only one unit available. acquired from a collection containing notable chicago building hardware.
