early to late 1930's american industrial brightly colored ruby red glass illuminated ceiling mount exit fixture designed and fabricated by or for the j.c. virden lighting co., cleveland, oh. the original baked black enameled steel shade fitter with adjustable set screws remains in great condition, considering age. the white ceramic light bulb keyless socket is original to the exit light. the rich and vibrant red glass ball-shaped shade contains the word "exit" in baked-on white enameled lettering. fully functional. the shade or globe was likely made by the kopp glass company, pittsburgh, pa. measures 6 inches high
