intact and completely functional art deco style depression era double-sided ruby red glass wedge-shaped illuminated exit light salvaged from a chicago commercial building constructed in the mid-1930's. the wedge-shaped globe was designed and fabricated by the macbeth-evans glass company, pittsburgh, pa. this type of double-sided wedge exit globe was a popular fixture found in commercial buildings throughout the united states. the globe fitter and socket housing is comprised of steel with an antique gold enameled finish. the original baked-on white enameled lettering (double-sided) remains in great condition. two nearly identical fixtures available.
