heavily reinforced c. 1940's vintage american industrial galvanized steel anti-aircraft ammunition box with black stenciled markings. the fabricator is not known. the world war ii-era shell case has a single spacious compartment once containing tracer ammunition (36 cartridges). the heavy duty lid features four riveted joint buckles or claps to ensure a air-tight seal. two of the buckles are equipped with sold steel drop handles for easier transport or handling purposes. surface wear consistent with age. measures 12 x 12 x 14 inches.
