rare original mid-nineteenth century cylindrical salt glazed stoneware weiss beer bottle manufactured for c.t. pagels & company in chicago, illiniois. the front body is stamped in the center "c.t. pagels & co. /chicago". the pint-sized bottle has sloping shoulders and a nearly nonexistent neck finished with an applied long tapered collar that has some mottled chipping around the edge. it would originally have contained a cork stopper. c.t. pagels & company were located at 147 & 149 fullerton avenue. measures 7 1/2 inches high.
