hard to find and intact c. early 1870's vibrant aqua blue blobtop "aerated waters" ten pin soda bottle. the rounded body tapers into a narrow neck and applied oval blobtop collar. the body is embossed vertically "aerated / waters / chicago" with the 'ae' in "aerated" joined together. crudities are typical of the age and date of manufacture, including bubbles, discoloration and whittling. barothy and cook are listed in chicago city directories as bottlers of champagne and soda water from 1872-1873. sometime in the following year or by early 1874, barothy retired from the business and cook took over the enterprise.
