original pair c. 1915-25 neoclassical style ornamental cast iron detroit city street lamp post bases likely fabricated by or for the general electric company. the weathered and worn enameled iron bases are adorned with deeply embossed anthemions interspersed with abstract floral motifs. the decorative exterior street light bases originally supported octagonal-shaped, tapered posts containing a single arm fanciful bracket. brightly colored yellow stamped steel identification plaques are prominently displayed along the front of each base. measures 12 x 16 x 15 inches. priced for the pair.
