original art deco style rearing trojan horse bookends manufactured by champion products inc., los angeles, ca. during the 1930's there was competition between trophy makers dodge, trophy craft and champion. each company produced works that were virtually identical in idea or style. it is unknown who copied who, but dodge and champion did produced some of the finest metalware in the form of trophies, bookends, ashtrays, etc. during that time period. the matching machine age bookends retain the original combination "sunray" and "antique bronze finish," consisting of a deep and rich high gloss two tone color scheme. priced for the pair. original red felt and embossed maker markings remain intact.
