original early 20th century advertising and/or salesman sample brick for the ricketson & schwartz co., located in milwaukee, wi. the company was advertised as wholesale dealers in building material and "all classes of brick." mr. schwartz was the secretary of the wisconsin clayworkers association for a number of years. the face of the brick contains the manufacturer's markings in the form of incised lettering.
