19th century antique american eastlake style nickel-plated ornamental cast brass "windsor" pattern residential passage door backplate fabricated by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. the doorknob backplate contains two screw holes (for mounting purposes) and a single keyhole opening. the nickel plating has worn away some above the keyhole. the wrought brass collar or thimble is intact. measures approximately 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.
