19th century antique american ornamental cast bronze interior residential "windsor" pattern passage door backplate designed and fabricated by the reading hardware co., reading, pa. the fanciful doorknob escutcheon contains a metallic bronze enameled inlay to accentuate the casting detail. the wrought brass collar or thimble remains in great shape. measures 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.
