extravagant early 20th century original antique american heavily embellished cast iron (plated bronze) and brass interior new york city hotel building lobby elevator floor indicator possibly fabricated by the jno. williams metal foundry based in new york city. the circular-shaped elevator indicator plaque or medallion is single-sided, with the backside originally mounted flush against the grillework above the elevator doors. the bronze-plated medallion retains the original fanciful yellow brass detachable letters and/or numbers surrounding the centrally located floriated design motif. the original indicator arrow remains intact with pointer and feathered fletchings. the nicely aged surface patina was left untouched. great overall condition.
