late 1920's heavily insulated american medical double hinged door reinforced copper-lined hospital operating room steam heated dressing and instrument cabinet possibly designed and fabricated by the wilmot castle company, rochester, ny. the slightly recessed panels are comprised of zinc with black enameled finish. the outer edges and interior are copper metal with a nicely aged surface patina. the cabinet interior contains a multitude of pull-out drawers with drop handles, along with stainless steel perforated trays for instruments. the sliding door bolt and handle are original and intact. salvaged from michael reese hospital (chicago, il.). measures 23 x 15 x 25 inches.
