largely intact c. 1920-30 vintage american desk terrarium and/or aquarium featuring a uniquely shaped reinforced cast aluminum frame or support system. the exact fabricator is not known. the partially enclosed portable tank retains the original rolled rim plate glass insets or panels mounted tightly between the surrounding uprights. the interior floor is comprised of a smooth black slate panel held in place by a black sealant found along the outer edges. nicely aged surface patina. free from cracks or breaks. measures 17 x 10 x 11 inches.
