refinished vintage american industrial "localite" double joint task lamp designed and fabricated by the fostoria pressed steel corp., fostoria, oh. the diminutive pressed and formed steel lamp contains a rolled rim slim helmet or "pear" reflector-shade. the hubbell paddle socket has been rewired with braided black cloth lamp cord. the task lamp was originally mounted to a massive factory die press. fostoria began producing the "localite" (in various configurations) beginning in 1918. the lamp has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the ball-and-socket joint are in good working condition. measures approximately 23 inches long.
