c. 1900-20 original neoclassical style city of chicago administrative building doorknob featuring graduated concentric rings containing a simple "pellet" design motif. the large central "button" is unadorned. the doorknob contains the words "municipal building" and a unique guilloche motif between the concentric rings. naturally aged surface patina left untouched. likely fabricated by the chicago hardware co., chicago, il. measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
