hard to find compact interior salvaged chicago two-flat vestibule mailbox equipped with speaking tubes and electric push button doorbells. the two individual units are mounted firmly against the original beveled edge quartered oak wood frame originally mounted flush against the wall. the copper-striped or japanned wrought brass mailboxes were likely designed and fabricated by the garden city plating & mfg. company, chicago, il. the original varnished finish has darkened over time, with allover crazing evident.
