late 1930's american antique industrial single-sided heavy gauge steel "no smoking" sign fabricated by the ready-made sign co., new york city, ny. the brightly colored cherry red sign contains a porcelain enameled finish with bold white lettering. the edges of the sign contain multiple screw holes with steel grommets for mounting purposes the flush and/or wall-mount sign was salvaged from the old ford assembly plant located on the chicago junction railway. the informational sign measures 20 x 14 inches.
