late 1850's medium emerald green colored glass pony soda or mineral water bottle manufactured for philadelphia bottler patrick conway. the slim tapering shoulders are finished with a rounded collar that exhibits some tooling marks. on the body, embossed all around, is the name "conway" in open-lined block lettering, and beneath this the place of manufacture. the base has a moderate kickup with residue from iron pontil. crudities are typical of age and date of manufacture, including bubbles and surface wear.
