original c. 1900-10 antique american ornamental cast brass emblematicvdoorknob likely fabricated by the chicago hardware company, chicago, il. the unusual doorknob features a centrally located human fist grasping a multitude of lightning bolts. the surrounding border consists of a repeating pattern of bellflowers. the doorknob may have been used in a gamewell alarm telegraph company office building, or perhaps a midwestern utility company. the doorknob contains a mostly uniform metallic bronze enameled finish. multiple doorknobs available. the backside of the doorknob contains a threaded opening for use with a screwless spindle. measures 2.5 inches in diameter.
