one of a few matching (8 total in different finishes and configurations) original c. 1940's american vintage industrial brushed bare pressed and folded steel stationary trash can designed and fabricated by the bennett mfg. co., alden, ny. the commercial size chicago public school trash can contains a distinctive pyramidal-shaped top with double-sided hinged "push" doors with embossed lettering. manufacturer markings are stamped on the sides of the hinged top. the cold-rolled steel trash container remains in great shape, considering age. two matching trash cans in a light blue finish available. priced individually. measures 16 x 16 x 41 1/4 inches.
