vibrantly colored and completely intact c.1850's iron-pontiled richly colored green glass bottle with applied tapered lip manufactured by d.g. hall in providence, ri. the body and lip contain crudities typical to age and date of manufacture, including whittling and bubbles or seeds throughout. in the center body the manufacturer's name is deeply embossed in an single arching line "d.g. hall". the base has a high, domed kick-up with iron oxide residue. david g. hall was a soda manufacturer and bottler at the rear of 91 north main street in providence from 1852-1854. in 1855, hall joined with edward anthony to become hall & anthony soda manufacturers with their operations located at the museum building in providence. the partnership lasted only a year and in 1856 hall opened a new bottling establishment at the rear of 78 pine street. by 1862, hall left the bottling business and joined william h. greene to form greene & company liquors located at 35 orange street. throughout the 1860's their company focused on selling and/or distributing most type of liquors available on the market. in 1871, hall left the company and dealt in provisions as david g. hall & company. measures 7 1/2 inches tall.
