this hard-to-find, out of print, profusely illustrated catalogue of the wisconsin based curtis and yale company was published in 1909. the dark green hardcover is slightly faded and worn at the corners. the binding which reads "curtis & yale co. 1909" has detached in the back but all pages remain intact and are held together by the original spine and the front cover. the curtis & yale company was not only the largest manufacturing and labor employing establishment in wausau, but as a manufacturer of sash, door, blinds, mouldings, and interior finishings, it ranked among the most extensive and best equipped establishments in the state of wisconsin. the factory was established in 1881 by curtis brothers & co., of clinton, iowa, as a branch of their large clinton establishment of the, same kind, and grew from a modest beginning to mammoth proportions. measures 7 x 10 inches.
