all original and fully functional american industrial sliding multi-tier bread rack or shelving unit with an elaborately designed cast iron upright support frame containing flared feet. the versatile tilting rack system contains a multitude of preset positions, beginning on one end with a horizontal table composed of tightly spaced and interconnected leaves, and at the other end, a fully upright or vertical shelving unit consisting of five equally spaced stationary shelves. the ends of the interconnected shelves are affixed to flanking malleable steel rails that remain stationary while each shelf pivots in sync when actuated by a spring-loaded push-button lever. the half-circle brackets contain a number of notches designed to allow greater flexibility in achieving the desired angled position. the ornamental uprights supporting the arched brackets have been thoroughly refinished and treated with a clear coat lacquer. the solid white oak wood shelves are original and intact. the exact fabricator is not known. measures 32 1/2 x 22 x 55 inches upright.
