hard to find salvaged chicago antique american industrial freestanding copper-plated cast iron "otis elevator controller" motor plaque, designed and fabricated by or for the otis elevator company, new york city, ny. the long and narrow single-sided plaque was salvaged from the wrigley chewing gum factory during its demolition. the lightly incised yellow brass plaque containing motor specifications remains intact. the angled back elevator sign retains the original highly desirable copper-plated finish. the early 20th century salvaged chicago sign plaque was removed along with several other elevator-related items shortly before the building addition was demolished. measures 18 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches
